This blog post is just meant to gather some of the photos that I scanned quite awhile ago and just found on my computer. In the years that I have memories she was in her late 40’s and older and a much different person then. That makes sense because she was 27 or so and became a mom at age 38. When I read the letters several years ago I got the feeling that she was a very different person at that time than the one I knew as Mom. We have photos and letters but haven’t taken on the project of organizing them to learn the story now that it’s too late to ask her. I wish I could share more about her time served. Now I’m reading The Maltese Falcon, which I like! It’s a detective story and unlike my typical choices.Family - Life on the farm and at the loom. I read The Sun Also Rises about ten years ago, and don’t remember it either! Recurring theme here. I read The Old Man and the Sea in high school but don’t remember it. I’m not sure whether or not I like Hemingway. I also read A Farewell to Arms which was horribly sad. I tend to miss the layers and themes in stories and always appreciate listening to other people discuss them. I finished Things Fall Apart and was sorry I couldn’t attend their class discussion on it. I’m still reading books for Keats’ and Gabe’s modern literature class. It’s going to be the perfect little sweater for her to wear over dresses this winter. Now I am focused on finishing Mabel’s little Puddle Duck. I finished a hat for Job’s birthday over the weekend and I’ll post photos of it soon. I haven’t gotten around to buying more needles, so I’ve moved on to other projects. Just a couple of days after posting last month’s Yarn Along, I broke a double point and had to set that pair of stripey socks aside. I would love for you to join me each month and share what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Post your photo(s) on your blog or on Instagram (#yarnalong) and then share a link below to either your blog or Instagram post!~ (This post contains affiliate links.) ~Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here.
